I'd like suggestions on a inexpensive player that handles m2ts, mvk, & divx files via a usb stick.

Define "inexpensive" so we know whether your price requirements are realistic or not.
Various Western Digital players certainly meet your needs. Some of the older models might be found through various resellers for a lot less than the current models sell for. -
my vote also goes to WD Live .just be sure not to get the mini model
