I need to buy a new dvd player anyway and I was wondering if there is one that I can make region free and record dvd to vhs using only the remote control. I don't have a cd burner. Thank you

Hi,
I don't think that what you want is possible. To record a DVD to VHS you ALWAYS need the DVD-player unit. Not just the remote !!! (just a joke..)
You are probably looking for a DVD-player which is, or can be made, region free AND macrovision free. The Player that i own, which is an Amoisonic 8605F is both region and macrovision free.

I read the review here on your player and it was just average. Is it a good player that will last awhile? I have over 500 dvd's, so I use my player almost every night. I have a toshiba sd2109. It worked for 3 years, but now won't play duel layer dvds. Since I have to replace anyway, I thought it would be nice to get a player that I can do more with. Thank you, your player has a good price on it too.

If you live in the uk Asda do a player which is remote hackable for region free, including RCE, and macrovision, plays just about everything including MP3's and is less than 90 quid.

Hi,
Well, i'm very happy with the 8506. It has Dual scart, Region free/selectable, macrovision free, dual Karaoke ports, Build in DD/DTS decoder with analoge output. Digital Coaxial and optical output. I think is i very good player, that does a lot.
Concerning durability, i have no clue. I have mine for about 2 years now and play movies almost dayly. I Own about 150 DVD's and 250 VCD's so movies is a big hobby of mine too.

Psycho dad- Where can I buy this? The link from this site goes to some site that is in Chinese and I can't find it on Amazon. Is there a B&M store that carries it? Thanks for all the help.

Hi
I own the YELO 800 DVD player. So far it has played every media i have thrown at it even cheap 10 pence CDR's. It also has the function to access a hidden menu via the remote control enableing you to turn off Macrovision. The DVD player itself is a multiregion but an also be set to the desired region in the hidden menu. This player is top class and i would reccomend it to anyone. I payed £149 for mine off of amazon.co.uk - a complete bargain for the features it posesses.
Check out some of it's features here:
