Glad I found this wonderful Forum! I need some very basic help.
I am 56, and I decided to put all my VHS tapes on CD's. Quite few of them from the whole world.
My PC specifications are:
Athlon 1800 XP
MB K7T266 Pro2
512 RAM DDR
GeForce3 TI 200
HDD 40 Gb at 7200 and 20 Gb at 7200
OS Win XP Pro
Monitor Sony 17 sf II
Sound Blaster Live!
Editing card Snazzi*III (MPEG & Digital Video)
Camcorders: Sony Video8 AF (your remeber that one 1986!)
and Panasonic RX7 (1997)
So none Digital camcorder yet and I hope you will not instruct me to buy one tomorrow!
Finally, I have the following softwares:
Unlead Video Studio 5.0 DVD, MyDVD, Movie Mill and Adobe Premiere 6.0
My questions:
1) with the above mentioned equipments, should I be able to pass all the VHS tapes on CD's?
2) When you refer to "Capture", do you mean that my camera should be on and reading the tape before I click on the Capture button?
3)What do you mean by "Clip"? Is it the time I stopped filming a scenery and the start of another scenery? Does the editing program knows this ? Or I have to indicate myself where to halt the scene?
4) Should I put all the tape on my HDD (45 minutes) and then read the file with the editing program? ( I understand that this takes a lot of Gb but I have free space)
5) Where can I find a tutorial for Idiots like me when willing to start from sratch :P
