MPlayer : Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so

While playing DVD in any mplayer derivatives for linux gives following error:
"Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory."
I already have nvidia drivers installed.
Any idea what it relates to?
vlc plays it fine and smooth without any error.

updated mplayer to newer version and it is solved.
