I'm about to give up on this. I want to watch some AVI videos on my iPad and I've tried a few different things but nothing seems to work. I keep reading that Avidemux is the way to go. I downloaded the version from CNET and it installed and let me enter the movie info but when I clicked SAVE nothing happened. Realized it was a 32 bit program (I am Vista 64, which I know, is bad) so I got the 64-bit version from Avidemux posted on this website. It tries to install but when it gets to the very last step, it crashes. Every single time. So I can't even tell if the program works because it won't even install.

    Is this a pointless endeavor?

I appreciate any advice you guys can offer.

(note: I mistakenly posted this in newbie, then tried to delete it and couldn't. Sorry if the temporary duplication was a problem.)

I'm not sure if it's included in my license for DVDFab or if it's a trial, but so far it's working great. AND it does BATCHES, which is cool.

I hope Videmux works out the kinks because it looked like a neat little program.

  4. Are you running as administrator or have access rights ?

If you still have problems installing, you don't need to install avidemux. You can use the no installer zip version that runs portable, even on usb key
