I borrowed my buddy's ATI TV wonder. I'm running XP, matrox g400, 733 asus, 80gb and 20gb maxtor 7200's, 512mb ram.
I started with a clean install of xp, installing the capture drivers properly, before the card went in, as per ati's instructions.
I tried mmc 7.1 and 7.6 - both would not display the video correctly, even though virtualdub had no problem. The workaround for this from ati, get's annoying - changing the colour depth each time I used mmc.
Besides, if virtualdub can get it right, why can't ati?
I would have just used virtualdub, but I need the ability to change channels, and program specific record times. If I find the correct channel, shut down mmc and then use virtualdub - like it says to do on the instructions for capturing on this site, then virtualdub always picks a channel - seemingly at random.
I've tried windvr and powervcr, which got the video perfectly right, but I can only use it once and then the sound cuts off every time after that.
Anyone have any ideas what I should be doing? I'm going to try redoing the system again and just use windvr and powervcr and see if that corrects anything.
