  1. hi guys , i recently added subtitles to a movie last night and when i added the subtitles into the new movie it went from 1.45gb (original size of avi) to 2.35gb , is that normal? is there no way to keep the same size of original avi.

It seems you reencoded the movie with burnt in subs.
The size of the new file depends on the settings you choose for saving video and audio.

However, do you really need to make hard subs?
Can't you just display them as text from a separate file?

Adjust the bitrate to reduce the file size. Use same as your source for same size. Under video->compression->your codec->settings.
