Hi!

How do I crop video and remove black bars from top and bottom ?

Open video.
Video->Filters and add the null transform filter, click then on the cropping, adjust y1 and y2 offsets.
Video->Compression and choose a video codec like xvid codec.
File->Save as.

Cropping can be attached to any filter. So if you're using some other filter you can add cropping to it. The cropping takes place before the filter.

Hi.. I have done that and my file is mpeg in high quality. I am using VirtudalDubMOD not like yours and clicked save as... and changed to Xvid MPEG-4 Codec (XVID) and I got this error message:

Cannot start video compression:

An unknown error occurred (may corrupted data).
(error code - 100)

Xvid requires that the frame height be an even value. You probably left an odd size. I suggest you use a multiple of 4 (mod4). Some older decoders can't handle mod2. And for best efficiency it's even better to use mod8 or mod16.
