FREE or CHEAP SW MPEG2 player?

Look, I'm willing to pay for a sw DVD/mpeg2 player but $50 is rediculous. Any FREE or $15 players out there?
mpeg2 for svcd is what I need to preview mpeg2 files before burning SVCD to CD with NERO
-Tired of paying $50 for every part of making a movie

$100 for Studio
$50 for NERO
$50 for WinDVD??? where does it end?!

Install the free MPEG2 codecs from the tools section of this site and you should be able to use wmplayer to play MPEG2 videos...

There's ya link. Herosoft DVD player. Does VCD too. Not as many features as some of the expensive players, but what do you want for free.

Something isnt right with my Netscape downloader I guess. I can't get the MPEG2 codec from the TOOLS part of this site to download either. Maybe it's b/c they both open a web address to download and my Netscape Smartdownload aint so smart! any ideas?
anybody do me a favor and email me the file?
