nero svcd menu is flickerig and B/W

i used the super video template in nero 5.5.0.3 and i created a menu with 5 items that are represented by thumbnails of the scenes. After burning it, I play it back through my dvd player and the screen is first of all flickering, as if the tv is using a different refresh rate, and secondly, i notice that the pic is black and white instead of color. Aside from the screen flickering, i can still access the scenes which play flawlessly. If there is a file/patch or anyone who knows of a working version of nero to overcome this problem, I'd appreciate any feedback.

Are you playing this on the APEX 1500; Because the exact same thing happens to be everytime I burn a SVCD; the problem can be solved by pressing the P/N key; (PAL/NTSC); For some reason the palyer gets set to multi and so we need to reset it to NTSC

I have a Pioneer-440. P/N key? Is that on the dvd player itself? I assume there is no solution on the software side of things .... I was hoping it was the version I have, maybe they released a newer build that solves this problem.
