  1. Hi all, this is my first post so please be kind!

Had a quick search through the forums but I couldn't find an answer to my question so here goes....

I recently bought a cheap Nikkai DVD player from Maplins, which I use to watch avi's on using a Sandisk Cruzer 8GB USB stick. These work absolutely fine the majority of the time but sometimes when there is a lot of activity on the screen such as an audience clapping, shots of moving water or live music the video starts to slow up as if it is struggling to process the data. This happens pretty much all the time if I use higher quality or VOB files.

Is this a common problem with cheaper DVD players or would it be more likely that it is the USB stick?

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

I guess it plays fine on your computer(from the usb stick)?

But yes it's a normal problem.

  3. Yup it plays fine when plugged into my computer.

Just as I suspected - you get what you pay for. Guess I will have to invest in a 1080 media player

Thanks for getting back to me

  4. Speaking of which can anyone recommend me a decent cheapish USB media player.

I've been recommended a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2 - are these any good? My main concern is that it doesn't judder like the aforementioned Nikkai DVD player
