  1. Hi, I'm interested in purchasing a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle. I would like to know if my computer is capable/willing to run it?

    I have the following:
    dv7t, HP Quad Edition.
    Intel i7 2630QM - Sandy Bridge.
    6GB RAM.
2 Graphics Cards / Radeon HD 6490m, Intel HD 3000
    2 USB 2.0's / 2 USB 3.0's
    HDMI/VGA ports

I just need to know if my computer will work with this. Thank you!

  3. I believe Black Magic has not certified any laptops for use with the Intensity Shuttle. But it looks like your laptop will be able to handle it.

Looks like for the most part your PC can handle it, the weakest link will be your hard drive if you are capturing HD video you will need a ton of Hard drive space . It is often preferable to capture other than the OS drive. Also just an FYI we get many around here who are disappointed after buying the Blackmagic products as the units will not recorded an encrypted signal (ie cable, satalite).

  5. Yes, the drive is going to be the weakest link. You may have to use more compression (MJPEG) to keep the transfer rate down. You will not be able to capture uncompressed HD video.

  6. My computer has two 1 TB HDDs, with RAID 0 and RAID 1 according to the site I've purchased it at. I also have 10 tower, 3 TB HDD's, so 30 TB of space, plus 2 TB Hard Drive space.

    Will I be good?

Does your dv7t laptop have an eSATA port? If so eSATA external drives will have similar performance to internal SATA drives.

most likely it won't work. first it isn't an intel x58 chipset motherboard and second it's a laptop, only 1 msi is tested working.

  9. I'll take the risk, that MSI has the same chipset/processor as my computer. I believe my laptop will be able to run it, I ordered it.. I'll let you know results soon
