I've posted a question a while back regarding TMPG Xpress and TMPG DVD Author, apparently when using DVD Author it would make my videos out of sync, but when using tmpg xpress it would not. But Baldric stated to me that they both use the same engine, so I'm left scratching my head as to why both programs who use the same engine would produce different outputs.
Keep in mind when I am using TMPG Xpress it would come out as an .mpg file which is pretty much ready to be authored. But going directly with tmpg author and skipping the xpress wouldn't work because of this issue Im having.
Anyways, I've used TMPG DVD Author and it came OOS, any way to fix the sync issue without me having to merge the VOB's into 1 file, rename to MPG, then load it back up with TMPG DVD Author and fix the syn issue and reauthor?
Just looking for an easy audio fix solution once the file is authored into a DVD structure. Thanks

It has to be reauthored. Demux the video, audio, chapters (celltimes.txt) and subs (if any) (PGCDemux). Find out how much the audio is off and remove the delay using DelayCut. Reauthor the video, the fixed audio, the celltimes.txt, the subs (if any) using Muxman. Test the Muxman authored DVD to make sure the audio is OK. Stick the Muxman authored DVD back into the original one with the menus using the replace button in VobBlanker. Baldrick has a guide that explains the steps with pictures even though it's about adding subs to a DVD:

Follow his Method 2, ignoring the stuff about the subs. -
Using Muxman is faster than TMPGENC DVD Author? To be honest i dont really care much about chapters or menus...just want the dvd. and using dvd author lets me fix the audio delay just was looking for a quicker way. The methid you described is as extensive if not longer than what Im striving for.

The way you described your workflow (create a single large VOB to feed into TMPGEnc DVD Author which will then demux it internally before reauthoring), yes. Better, too. But one way or another it has to be reauthored. There's no magic fix that can be applied to the VOBs or IFOs to correct a delay.
And if you don't need a menu, then after Muxman you're done. Demux, either fill in the amount of the delay when adding the audio to Muxman or (better) remove it entirely using DelayCut, and reauthor with Muxman. -
I take it you are trying to re-author a DVDR?
If so....try using VOB2mpeg first.
Scan through your mpeg file to see if there is any mysterious blank video at the beginning or end of the file. You may also be looking for a few frames of the menu created by the DVD recorder.
Either way(blank video or video of a DVD recorder menu)....cut a few frames off of the beginning and end of the video then load into TDA. That has always helped with DVDR with problem discs from my dad's old Cybercrap DVD recorder.
