Can someone explain "repack parameters" under video settings?
Trying to convert MKV x264 file to m4v. Audio is fine, no video. Can someone help me with settings or if I need a different source file format? Thank you.
Hi Oreons, tanks for all your worjk, i love your program, but i have a problem with some files.
I have the Video File A than have Auddio AAC 6Chanels and resolution 1280x720 and a File B that have Audio AAC 2 chanels and resolution of 1980x1038,
I want to produce the File C.m4v whith tags, video resolution 1980x1038 and the 2 audios. both video files are in 23,976 FPS and the total time of the movies are same (2:01:38)
MkvToMp4 produce a final file with total time of 2:06:30 and Audios out of sync.
I take the temp files MKvToMp4 produces (video.264, the 2 acc and the .ttxt) and merge with MeGUI (optiom mp4 muxer) and produce a file with correct time and audios sync.
I don´t know if some parameter makes the diference, but mp4box with the MkvToMp4 parameters import de video file with 23.000 FPS

augustosanchez,
Maybe because of different versions mp4box in programs.
ronch,
To display subtitles, you need to use the m4v format.
MkvToMp4 0.223 http://www.mediafire.com/?4645ian266lzjy0
New in version:
1. Selecting iTunes country to search tags. You can select country in settings, it will be by default. Also available the selection at the search dialog.
2. Update utilities in the folder Tools: MkvExtract, Qaac, FFMpeg, Mp4Box, Eac3To
3. The original name of the movie stored to the tag SortName.
4. Russian ratings in tags.
5. Fixing bugs in rating, delay and reencoding AAC.
6. Removing private user information from the movies.
Just keeps getting better
Feature Request:
I would love to see the ability to select all videos and check optimize.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks Oreon, just one thing, it is possible, to change the font and size of the font for the subs ?
Redneck,
For Apple devices in a standard player it's impossible. In soft players can choose subtitle options.
Thanks for the answer, another thing, since a while, everytime a try to add a subtittle and tags to a movie file, the result file has the audio out of sync, even if the original file is perfectly sync, i didn't touch the video nor audio stream (the original is AAC) just add the subs i think this start when i update itunes but i don't know for sure.
Any comment's will be appreciated.
I am having problems trying to convert my mkv's to mp4's for apple tv3 playback. I am not sure what settings to choose with this program.
I am trying to include an AAC (stero) and AC3 passthrough tracks as most of my MKV's have DTS audio. However I have no idea what settings to choose for audio and video (the appletv drop down doesn't seem right for some reason) Does anyone have a guide?
I was using Handbrake, but it also encodes the video which can take hours...

i have been converting my colecction of MKVs and MP4 to M4v (With subtitles included and tag info), for each 15 files 1 have the sync problem

Great program, but I've noticed the following issues:
Whenever you finish searching for tags, it unchecks the "MP4 Optimization" checkbox, even if you have it set in the config, and you've previously checked it.
It looks like you should be able to select images to automatically add to the file, but this doesn't work. The only way I can get an image into the file is to right click on one of the images, save it to disk, then manually attach it.
Saving an image to disk fails if the filename the program wants to use contains an invalid character for a filename like ":".
Oreon, cheking With more detail, o notice Youtube Put in The video track name, The same of The original file. And for some reason, m4box import The video at 23.000fps With The kind vido track names i show Youtube in The previos message.
Cómodo you Put in you next version an opción to edit The video track name, like The audio and subtitle tracks has.
augustosanchez,
In the properties of the video track, set the correct fps manually.
Why do it?Put in you next version an opción to edit The video track name, like The audio and subtitle tracks has.
kingmotley,
With optimization, yes, there is. Do the search first.
It looks like you should be able to select images to automatically add to the file, but this doesn't work. The only way I can get an image into the file is to right click on one of the images, save it to disk, then manually attach it.![]()
Oreons,
Selecting the image and clicking save does nothing. It does not show that it is going to add any artwork, and if I let it process the file, it will not add it either.
Ho Oreons
I Put in The in The video track The correct fps, if you look in The previous message, The command generated for MkvToMp4, Put in The video and audio tracks 23,974fps (correct fps)In the properties of the video track, set the correct fps manually.
Because in The same example I Put in The previous message, The original video track has a name With references to fps, that make m4box import The video track With bad fps (23,000).
Always i have a file to convert that in The name of the video track has info like "2.2006.1080p.BrRip.x264.BOKUTOX.YIFY.264#trac kID= 1:fps=23.976@GPAC0.5.1-DEV-rev4283", Your Program Put The same text in The name of The video track and The m4box import The video track With bad fps. I have Many video files With that kind of text in his video track name
I solve The problem changing The name of The video track in The command line (example in The previous message)
For that reason if i could change The video track name in MkvToMp4, i don't need to stop The Program in The moment it's bulding The final file and use The command line.
kingmotley,
Try to move the program to another directory (writable).
augustosanchez,
Need an example of your file for the test. I checked the track named ".2006.1080p.BrRip.x264.BOKUTOX.YIFY.264#trackID=1"
and it worked correctly.
Code:Tools\MP4Box\MP4Box.exe -new -set-meta "[:tk=2]" -par 1=980:1000 -add "Temp\video.264":fps=23.976:lang=eng:name=".2006.1080p.BrRip.x264.BOKUTOX.YIFY.264#trackID=1" -add "MkvToMp4/Temp/frozzen_internal_audio_2_new.m4a"#1:fps=23.976:lang=rus:name="Dublirovannoe [Licenzija]" -itags tool="MkvToMp4 [www.mkvtomp4.ru] version 0.224Test1" "E:/Kino\frozzen.m4v" -tmp "Temp/Mp4Box"
Oreons, check With a track named "2.2006.1080p.BrRip.x264.BOKUTOX.YIFY.264#trac kID= 1:fps=23.976@GPAC0.5.1-DEV-rev4283" and you see The problem.
Problem with randomly enabling VFR? I say random, because just for giggles, I added a sub to an .mp4 (same files each time) 10 times. Out of those 10 times, 3 of them resulted in this happening....

Oreons,
I test and works fine.
Tanks
But now, the name of the audio and subtitle tracks changed
For example i put in the name of audio track "Esp. Latino AAC 5.1" and in the final file the result is "Esp__Latino_AAC_5_1", I don´t like it.
Please, could you let the handled of audio and subtitle tracks name like in version 0.223
I got a chance to test it, takes care of my issue.
@Oreons: It was in a directory that was writable, however, I tried moving it to another directory (N:\mk4tomp4), and it still didn't work, so I put a video together showing you the issues:
1) Mp4 optimizations turning itself off.
2) First time I go in, there is only 17 artworks available, the iTunes one doesn't show.
3) I select one anyway, and the artwork doesn't appear.
4) When I go back in, now 18 artworks are available, including the iTunes one.
5) I select the iTunes artwork, however, it doesn't show on the main screen either.
I think the last "save" click didn't show in the video, however, it didn't show up when I did.
Here is a link to the video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j0m6jrmat1p26nl/mkvtomp4.m4v

Just to chime in, in testing, I can optimize an .mp4 by ticking the box AFTER I search the tags/cover art and add it. If you tick it prior too, it un-ticks for some reason.
As far as the artwork, I have randomly had the same problem. But seeing as how I save most of my cover art and edit the dimensions, it's not a problem for me. It's always the first artwork in the list (iTunes) that does it to me. Sometimes i'll get the generic logo, other times it will be blank, specifying 0x0 as it's size, sound familiar?

I guess one question is, if I add art work through the search, should I see it on the main screen similar to as if I manually added the art work from a file? I'm not seeing it, and re-encoding these files with different options takes a while to see if it actually will add the art work or not.
