I have several fitness DVDs that have 5 10-minute selections on them. There is a customize button on the menu that I can select and "program" which combination of the workouts I want to do and it will play the selections back to back, in the order chosen, or just the ones I have selected if fewer than 5. Does anyone know how to make these customized DVDs? Thanks.

the easiest way for you to do it is a menu tree. just have the viewer follow the dots.

Thank you for the quick response. Sorry it took so long to get back, but I was trying to figure out what you meant by menu tree, but it finally dawned on me. I thought I was always returning to the same menu, but it is just a series of menus that all look alike, except that previous selections are highlighted. Yes, this should be easy to implement. Thanks!

The "Correct" way for this to be done on standard DVD-Video is to use a GPRM (DVD virtual machine) script that uses your menu selections as input for a temporary memory storage and then plays back that stored memory.
Looks NICE, but is somewhat complicated, especially/more-so if you've never programmed GPRMs.

Here's a good tutorial for DVDSP for Jukebox Playlist. Used to do music titles like this all the time with Scenarist: My programming is a little different and much cleaner but it'll give you an idea.

Thank you for the information. From the first post I now understand why some authoring software was "limited" by only allowing 99 menus! I have really not done any GPRM programming, but you all have given me good information and the tutorial looks exactly like what I want to do. I have some studying to do! Thanks again to all of you.
