    Okay...

This is the strangest thing and i have never seen this or had this issue before.

I just installed WinXP on an older system with an old Liteon burner.

When i put in a pressed dvd it shows up fine in windows explorer and plays fine, when i put in a burned DVDR it shows as being empty.

I thought well, maybe the laser is dying and is not strong enough to read the DVDR.

Now if i run ImgBurn it shows the DVDR as being full and will let me rip the contents to the PC

I have yet to try and burn a dvdr with it.

Yes it is good media and Yes they are finalized, LOL!!

    Any ideas ?

  2. I just had something similar happen. I'd added a couple hard drives to a new build and had juggled the drive letters around. Then my BD-ROM suddenly wouldn't work, it even locked up Explorer.

I thought the drive was done for, but being stubborn, I uninstalled it and rebooted. No dice, locked up Explorer again. Did it again and rebooted. Nothing. Did it one last time, shutdown, cold boot and started up ImgBurn -> Discovery -> Drive -> Refresh. Bingo!

I'm at a loss to explain it.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
