lst-Time User. Using an XP Pentium 4 PC, I created a video using Easy CD Creator 5.1 Platinum in Video Impression 1.6. After saving, I exited Video Imp and opened Video CD. After "Record CD Progress" a screen titled "Project Differs from Source" appears reading "One or more files have been modified since creating the project. It is recommended to stop the recording and run Validate Project from the application". The only screen I can find in ECD Creator that's close to this is "Video CD Layout Validation" which reads "No errors detected" for the file I created.
When I try to play on my DVD/TV a message came up "CD is dirty".
I was successful with a temporary workaround by using two PC's as follows:
After creating the file using my XP I saved it to my hard drive and burned it to a CD. Then I copied it to the hard drive of my Windows 98 Pentium 2 PC. Next, I opened ECD Creator Video CD and burned an MPEG CD. I played the CD on my DVD/TV without problem -- 15 minutes (115 images, 7 audio files track, 8 second interval, text on most images). (I have a separate problem of not being able to open Video Impression on this PC).
Since I don't want to have to use two PC's to create a playable video CD, I'm looking for an answer as to why I get "Project Differs from Source" message and how to correct it. It appears that there is something different in XP vs Win 98 in VCD but NO explanation in ECD Creator. I have been unable to get an answer to the question from the software manufacturer. Nothing in the Index or Contents identifies this message. Since the workaround works, I am convinced that there is something unique in XP that's causing the problem.
Any help or suggestion is appreciated -- I'm new at this (in addition to being old!) -- thanks.
