I'd like to make an .mkv out of a BD.
When in MakeMKV I click on index.bdmv file, it gives me a message that AnyDVD is running and recommends to disable it. I couldn't find how to do it. Would it help to do that?
    Would appreciate any help.

Just try it without disabling it. What OS are you running? And more importantly, have you actually installed AnyDVD? It's not free.

You're violating our terms of service by talking about downloads like this. Do not be surprised if you get a warning.

AnyDVD is most likely hanging out in your system tray. Right click the little red fox and close it.

Sorry... New here. If I broke any rules, moderators please feel free to delete this thread altogether. I feel like I'm getting nowhere with this anyway.
I did not install AnyDVD (free or otherwise), and no red fox in the tray (I know exactly what's in there), but still get the message. I just installed free MakeMKV, that's all.
I forget what I clicked (continue or ignore the message), but at some point it asked if I wanted to begin the 30-day trial for AnyDVD, to which I said no.So unless it came with the MakeMkv bundle (which it shouldn't I got it from the developer's site), so I have no idea.
OS is WinXp Sp3 - pretty old, I know, but beats Vista that the computer originally came with.

I do not use MakeMKV or know anything about it. Perhaps others can comment on whether or not it has some kind of bizarre tie in to AnyDVD.

We can't delete threads here. Sorry.

I would be surprised if there was any tie-in since Slysoft makes their own ripper/transcoder and is planning on releasing CloneBD very soon. I would check my task manager and see if AnyDVD is running in the background and if not, just ignore it.

I love all MKV tools - simple, straight to the point, and no way a beginner can mess it all up... Used them on all kind of things, love 'em.
    Thanks everybody.
