  2. First of all Select the clips to be combined sync the clips and group and once again select them and go to tools>Scripting>Batch Render. Select the file type and render in a known destination folder. now replace the original with the combined clip and that should help u to use the whole audio clips in the movie as one audio file to be opened in an external audio editor. This worked for me for the combination of 2-3 clips in the movie i was making and need to amplify the whole audio and had to export but the clip came seperatly and this helped me out. Hope this is what u were looking for.
