I've recently noticed that I get a faint diamond-shaped image superimposed on my video footage in top right corner. I'm not sure whether it's there all the time because it's visibility depends on the background. I've noticed it most on a cloudy day when I pan the camcorder from a scene which includes sky to a scene, of say, all tree foliage.

Can anyone offer me any clues as to the cause of this image appearing.

    Thanks.

Sometimes, this effect can be caused by lens elements in a camcorder.

Could you post a screenshot/image/video of it?

Thanks for the quick response. I've attached a copy of a screen shot with the ghosting image circled - you can make out a faint diamond shape. If the cause is associated with the lens elements is there a solution?

  4. I've seen that quite a lot. I don't think there's much you can do about it. It happens on various camcorders.
Certain lighting conditions may make it more or less noticable, and as you pan or zoom it probably shifts about the screen, and may increase/decrease in size or disappear.
