I'd like to convert the MPEG TS files recorded with an USB TV card, using Me-TV program, to a more common format (AVI).
I'd like to keep all streams (all audios and all subtitles), but if I first demux all streams and convert the video+audio tracks to AVI, and then I delete the commercials, I'll have to manually resync the subtitles
Is there any way to delete first the commercials from a MPEG TS file so that the timing of the subtitles remain correct?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what country you are in - this is important to know as MPEG TS files can be different depending on transmission standards.
Or post a mediaInfo log of a typical file ( text tree)
If the video is MPEG2 and NOT H264 you can use ProjectX in Demux mode and edit out commercials using the time line editor, then when you hit demux it produces an audio file a video file and a subtitle file all in sync.SONY 75" Full array 200Hz LED TV, Yamaha A1070 amp, Zidoo UHD3000, BeyonWiz PVR V2 (Enigma2 clone), Chromecast, Windows 11 Professional, QNAP NAS TS851 -
Thanks for answering.
ProjectX is what I use to demux the files, but I didn't know it had an editor. I am taking a look into it, but I can't find it. Where is it and how do I delete the commercials exactly?
It is MPEG2:

Usually if you cut transport streams at I frames (1/2 sec, 12 frame GOP usually for DVB), audio will maintain sync. This should be true for subtitles but I'm not sure.
But your info shows a 21 frame GOP so I frames will be separated by 21/25 = 0.84 sec
Format settings, GOP : M=3, N=21Last edited by edDV; 21st Oct 2011 at 13:43.

Edea, Take a look at my Wiki on ProjectX although I haven't updated the images for the latest version it's only cosmetic the changes. When you open ProjectX there is a large preview pane and below that there are transport controls. You scroll to where you want to start your video and insert a cut point - the timeline turns red to the left of the cut point. Then scroll to the start of the first commercial and insert another cut point this time the time line to the right will turn red scroll to the end of the commercial and insert a cut point the time line to the right turns green leaving the commercial portion red. Basically it edits the same way as VideoRedo and many other simple editors. If you are using the latest version of PX then after loading the file you need to click on the cut control tab at the bottom of the screen (there are 3 tabs) You can now get near frame accurate cuts with the fine control navigation tool.
