Quick question. Are this VCD's NTSC or PAL? Are they wide screen or pan & scan? The ones on getvcds.com say "Full Screen." Any preference between eurekamovies and getvcds?

Is the quality similar to the VCD sample of "Space Balls" on this web site? If so, I'm there!

  2. To answer the questions about the DVD versions. There are many different versions of these. One version i saw was very good quality whilst another was downright crap. I just cant wait for The Phantom Menace to come out on DVD later this year. Hopefully then the others will come out as well

Like a lot of people here I feel compelled to post a message on this subject.
First off the best price for an original set of the Star Wars Trilogy on the web is at Videomas.com($15.7. My advice(if anyone cares)is to just have Eureka match the price and order from them. I order from a few vcd sites and they are by far the best.
If your interested in the Phantom Menace Videomas.com sells it for $10.26. again, have Eureka match the price on this and you can have "the complete set" for about 26 bucks.
Just to weigh in on the picture quality issue, the 4 Star Wars movies were the first vcds I ever viewed and I was a little disappointed. The movies are more than watchable but I've seen better vcds since(I only have original vcds because I am too much of a technological retard to rip my own). Still to have these movies on a disc format(come on , admit it, that's cool) at the price above is more than worth it.
Lastly for those who might not know(I know a lot of you do), the discs are PAL format but play on your NTSC t.v. no problem. My t.v. and player are both NTSC and I've had no problems. I'll stop typing now so the next person can weigh in on this issue, it seems quite popular. Later

  4. AHHH I'm pissed now. I just ordered Trilogy on VCD off eBay. I know its the realy version ,but form what I'm hearing the quality isnt to good . I've only seen one "real" vcd and it was Dumb And Dumber. The quality is GREAT. Looks like a brand new vhs tape ,so I guess it got my expectations too high. But I was expecting awesome quality form lucas arts I mean come on?!? Like the most popular movies ever should be in good quality dont ya think??!?!?! I think thats kinda ridiculous. They are the first THX(audio) mastered vcd why couldnt the have awesome video quality to go along with it!!! How do I get that 10% discount form eureka movies??? Oh yeah has anyone seen Dude Wheres My Car vcd?? Is it good quality?

  5. I just got the trilogy. I havent watched it all but the opening stuff with luas talking looks AWESOME(dvd-like) however the movies look o.k. Nothing terrible. Nothing great. Some blocking but verall it looks like a kinda washed out vhs tape in some spots. This might be becasue of the desert/snowy looks in the scenes i saw. Also I can understand the quality because there IS NO STAR WARS DVD OR LASERDISC to source frm, sothey did it frm there only options 8m film r vhs which dont look to great. I dunno about the cuts tho. The nice box, cd casing,cd labels and episode 2 info make i a nice buy i think
