    Convert to avchd(m2ts/mts) with tsmuxer or to mp4 with https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-mkv-to-mp4-avchd-ts . No quality loss.

    Post the details from the mkv. Use mediaInfo.

    Or try reconvert to a standard avchd with avchdcoder or multiavchd and it might work better in vegas.
