This is my first time in this forum and this is the closest forum to the problem that I'm having. If this is posted at the wrong location I apologize.
Here's my problem
I downloaded a divx file which is 200+ megs. I then followed the rules of Divx to vcd conversion at DIGITAL DIGEST and VCDHelp
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are the options that I followed which I borrowed from DIGITAL DIGEST.
Stream type: Mpeg-1
Size: 352x240 (must be this size!!)
Aspect Ratio: 4:3 525line (this can vary depending on the rip and the dvd player- but 4:3 usually works best)
Frame Rate: 29.97fps
Rate Control Mode: Constant Image Quality. Then go to the settings and change the quality to 100 and the maximum bitrate to 100 000.
Motion Search Accuracy: Highest Quality (very slow)
Advanced tab:
Source aspect ratio: This can be changed depending on the rip that you have. Try to find out the aspect of your rip. Otherwise pick one at random as this does not seem to make THAT much of a difference usually.
Image Positioning Method: Fit to Frame (preserve aspect ratio)
In the area below, select the following boxes- Ghost Reduction, Noise Reduction, Edge Enhancement, Basic Colour Correction, Crop Video, Audio Effects
Audio tab:
Stream type: Mpeg-1 Audio Layer II
Sampling Frequency: 44100 (must be this!!!)
Channel mode: Stereo
System tab:
Stream type: Mpeg-1 Video CD
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are no problems when I run the finished VCD in the computer. The problem lies when I play it on a Pioneer VCD player. Varying degrees of occassional pixellation and audio popping occurs when the VCD is played on the VCD player.
My VCD player can play most vcds that I haven't created. I only encountered this problem once on a vcd that I bought. I also set it to NTSC (the only working setting).
Please help. This is the first time I created a vcd.
