Ok. I have somehow got the program to pick up the easycap.

You said it all. The drivers that you 'found' are possibly NOT the correct drivers - they really should have been given to you with the device.

You are not stating what OS you have and some devices do not like analogue capture beyond WinXp.

You do not state (not that it really matters) what version of this capture software you are using. But you may also like to check your settings(composite etc) and that you are not attempting to capture an incompatable format ie NTSC in PAL land or vice-versa.

Also if you didn't buy it from here:

...it's probably a cheap knock-off that isn't worth the postage you paid to have it shipped. Not that the original is fantastic....but the cheap knock-offs usually end up being unusable.

Buying those counterfeits for $1 off eBaY is just not worth the trouble.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with $1 for many, but that only applies directly financially. The headaches you endure later, the time you waste, and the lower quality, is enough to say you can go wrong for $1, at least indirectly.

The original isn't that great either, but much more worth it for 20 pounds (or equivalent) than this cheap thing for $1.
I hate VHS. I always did.
