  1. Ok this is quite weird.
My camera which is a nikon D5000 is the only HDMI device we have at the moment. I have a digitally downloaded movie in my computer which i want to see on TV.
the camera captures in .avi format, but when i convert to avi using AVS the camera gives an error saying no image file available.

    please help thank you \

Use mediainfo to compare ALL settings like video codec, audio codec, frame size, etc in the nikon avi file. Then convert to as similar format with software like xmedia recode, avidemux, freemake video converter or avs as you use.

If you already did that then post the mediainfo details from your nikon avi file.

You cannot put non-Nikon images/movies back on to a card and have the Nikon be able to see it. Most Nikons record in MJPEG.

  6. You've answered your own question. Convert to AVI with MJPEG video and PCM audio -- with the properties similar to those in the MediaInfo listing. VirtualDub should be able do that if you get an MJPG codec. ffdshow has one. Pic Video MJPEG codec is a commercial version.
