    Hi!

I use aegisub to make subtitles. I have never been able to play mpeg, mpg or vob videos. So what I have done for the past year is:
    1 I encode a (mpg)video to mkv using Staxrip
2 Then I use Divxland media player to time the music video
3 THen I import the subtitles (.ssa) and video (mkv) to aegisub and finetune the timing of the subtitles
4 Then I use Staxrip, import the video (mpeg) and subtitles (.ass), and encode

This procedure has always worked, but lately the timing is off. I think it would be easier if aegisub would just play mpg videos, but I have been unsucesfull doing this.

Does anyone know how I can use mpeg files in aegisub?
Or know why this proceduere is suddenly not working..?

Well, here's what the program's author site says about video formats:

I don't have the problems you're having. Perhaps you can go on the Aegisub forums or the home site for answers.

Yes, I read the same so I am surprised I am having (and always have had) this issue.

Thank you for replying and for the link. I'll go to the forums and post the same question there.

If someone here knows of other ways to do subbing easier than I do, or know how to deal with this issue
    then let me know
