  4. First of all how fast is you CPU? The simple answer would be to get a faster CPU, cause 6 hours seems alot for an hour's worth of video. Are you encoding in Mpeg1 or Mpeg 2? Mpeg2 takes longer to encode. Are you using any of the built-in filters, cause these will also increase the encoding time. Lastly if you really want faster encoding you might want try a different program (ie CCE SP ) but I'd stick with TMPGEnc,you can't beat the price.

  6. tmpeg takes me 8-10 hours to do a 2 hour movie into mpeg2 .. and i have a dual amd 1G ... cce takes 4 ( 2 single vbr passes ) .... but for the price .. tmpeg is worth it ... just hit start .. go to sleep ( or work ) ... hope it's done when you wake up ( or get home ).

  10. Hey Corliss,
I have a Duron 900mhz cpu and I've been getting the same conversion times. Just bought an Athlon 1800xp cpu. That alone should cut my conversions times in half from what I'm hearing from everyone else.
