    Over past several days, my AMD XP Barton PC screen would just freeze up. Sometimes when it freezed the screen would show a nice regular pattern. Now, it wouldn't boot. I strip down the PC to only motherboard with onboard video, ram and CPU. I power up but there is NO POST. I took out the memory module and power up. There was no long beep.

    I have to similar motherboard (Chaintech 7NIF2) and I have swaped. No POST. Swap the PSU as well. No POST.


    Can I conclude that the CPU is dead ?
