I need to know what codec packs exist out there that will allow me to edit an MP4 file in boilsoft video splitter/joiner without using ffdshow. The codec pack needs to compatible with windows 7 64-bit home premium.
Right now I am using boilsoft video splitter and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack to cut scenes, but the problem is. FFDShow slows down my pc alot, just by it being installed. When I author, browse the web, play games, listen to music it causes hiccups with my overall system performance. I need to be able to edit mp4's with boilsoft video spliiter, but I don't really want to use FFDShow to load mp4's in boilsoft video splitter. Is there another way to load mp4's into this program without me having to install ffdshow and k-lite on my system?

doubtful it's ffdshow causing the problems. it's been on every computer here for the last 10 years or so and never caused a problem.
codec packs on the other hand have been known to cause major headaches.--
