Hello all- I'm using Edius to create AVI files. These are AVIs with uncompressed YUY2 video. The audio is 48kHz/24bit, but I can't figure out what codec is being used for it. I'm attaching an export from MediaInfo which tried to identify the codec. Also, when I play the file in VLC the video works fine, but I get a message that the audio format is undf.

What would cause this and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance!

did you try reading the manual? or watching any of the tutorials? pcm is a wav file but that's not a normal template. 8ch, 24bit.

The manual just tells me it's PCM. There's no way to capture other than creating a file with 8 audio channels.

According to what that MediaInfo says, it's LPCM, 8ch, 24bit, 48kHz. That's UNCOMPRESSED, like WAV. It's just uncommon, because of the high bitdepth and multichannels.

Are you trying to open them in Edius? or Output them?

It's been a while since I dealt with this kind of audio, but I could look and find out which Audio apps support it...

Yes, I've captured with a different system and get a recognizable audio codec. The MediaInfo for that file is attached.

Also, the video I'm capturing is just old Umatic tapes so it's not coming in as a weird digital format or anything.

I'm trying to capture the files with Edius and then open them with VLC and MediaInfo.
