Try "remux" to a ts or m2ts file with tsmuxer, just open the mpg, output as ts or m2ts file. Try play.

Aye. That video seems to be screwed up. AVC in an mpeg ?

May also be worth trying (nothing to lose) just renaming it to .mp4

I'm pretty sure you can have avc video in a mpg/mpeg-ps container. But I guess many players doesn't like it.

  7. I rename extension of file from mpg to mp4 then Media Player can open file but play that with noise and problems.
I upload a small zipped clip(4second) for investigation.
    Thanks.

Yep, tsmuxer doesn't find the audio. Hmm. Not sure what you can do. Maybe videoredo h264 might work.

My guess is that BlazeDTV prog is creating a proprietory file - AVC + mp3 in a mpeg container is somewhat unusal to say the least. The proprietory nature means that only their player + their codecs can play the darn thing properly - I could also, like the others, see the video but not hear the sound.

But I notice from their website that the pro version of their player claims to convert these files in to standard playable formats avi etc. That may well be your only option.

    WTF MPEG-Audio "2CC" = 50 (MP1/MP2) or 55 (MP3)

    To make things worse:

    =>ffmpeg -i 38.mpg
    ffmpeg version N-32071-g276f43b, BLAH-BLAH-BLAH

    [mp2 @ 01FD1AA0] Header missing
    Last message repeated 5 times
[mpeg @ 01EDB000] Could not find codec parameters (Audio: mp1, 0 channels, s16)

Seems stream 1 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 50.00 (50/1) -> 50.00 (50/1)
    Input #0, mpeg, from '38.mpg':
    Duration: 00:00:02.86, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 2784 kb/s
    Stream #0.0[0x1c0]: Audio: mp1, 0 channels, s16
    Stream #0.1[0x1e0]: Video: h264 (Main), yuvj420p, 720x576 [SAR 12:11 DAR 15:11], 50 fps, 50
    tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc
At least one output file must be specified

  15. The audio is actually misidentified; it's LATM HE-AAC V2

Not very many programs have support for LATM AAC audio , winamp can convert it.

If you have LAV splitter and audio decoder installed and configured it should be able to play (but I couldn't get it to play for some reason, even though it detected audio - audio was blank)

    This is what I did

    1) tsremux to re-wrap into .m2ts

    2) eac3to to demux audio & video

    e.g.
    eac3to input.m2ts -demux

    3) winamp to convert the aac audio to wav (or something else like AC3, but I left it uncompressed for this test)

    4) re-wrap original demuxed video along with converted audio with tsmuxer into .m2ts transport stream

I had to enter audio delay of -720ms, but your sample was too short to know if it was ok

mediainfo stated -360ms delay on original video, but it was too short when I tested it

Delay relative to video : -360ms

That's a lot of work just to get the darn thing to play.

Noticed that the converted file appears shorter in running time to the original so I do wonder if that also had some influence in the failure to render any audio.

BlazeDTV still appear to call these mpegs 'mpeg[video]+mp3[audio]' and one would think they know what they are talking about. But apparently not.
