How to connect componenet RGB with V H sync (confused!)

Hi, I am trying to connect my receiver http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/aventage/rx-a3000_black_a/
to my TV Phillips 55pp9527 for use with the xbox 360, I am in Australia so im talking the PAL versions (if thatis still relevant to modern stuff).

My problem is that several xbox games say they must run in 60hz mode and to change my tv from 50hz to 60hz.

I change the setting in the xbox but everything is a little strange, kind of like watching parts of a 3d movie without the glasses.

So I check my TV connections and find the standard component input is not for hi-def but there is a hi def component input with 60hz which contains two extra inputs which the manual says I may or may not need - V and H synch.

Thinking this will be easy i switch them over without the synch but now the tv image is flying all over the place, there is picture there just distorted by moving around all over the place.

So im guessing (hoping) the synch cables will 'synch' things together and the image will return to stable. But what are these cables and does this sound right?? I cant find any info on them and am hoping this will work and be simple.

XBOX to Yamaha receiver then component to TV is the chain of connections.

I also dont understand why they print R G B next to the Y Pb etc on the hi def connection and not the normal connections.

Anyway the image below is of the rear of the TV, can anyone help with connecting this up??

The most likely to work is a VGA kit on the xbox360 going into AV4 directly, avoiding the receiver. That is almost 100% likely to work.

Going component direct to the TV AV3 is next most likely to work. Both avoid the receiver which might not handle 60Hz.

BTW: The Xbox has no option for YPbPr + HV sync out. VGA is RGBHV.

Thankyou EdDV, I assumed since the receiver is brand new it would handle the signals better than the old TV. I will plug in direct with the component since I have that connection and if no luck will try one of those VGA adapters in your link.
