  1. Hey guys...

I'm trying to render some 23.976p footage from Vegas to AVCHD. The only options in the AVCHD templates are for 24p. I tried rendering to that, but everything just seems a bit jumpy. I thought it may have been just in my head, but the resulting file was also 14 seconds longer than the original (original 2:11:58, render is 2:12:05). I'm working from a cineform file, but the framerate is correct. Any idea what's going on here? Or whether I can render 23.976p to work with AVCHD?

    Let me understand better.

Did you capture "24p" AVCHD in 60i steam to Cineform, have Cineform do the inverse telecine? Then you created a 23.976 project in Vegas and imported the Cineform file?

Did the video preview smoothly pre-encode?

    Describe your "Render as" settings.

What is your intended distribution for the render?

Note: Pre AVCHD v2.0, "24p" was sort of faked as telecine 60i

  3. Ahh, yunno I actually just figured it out. I was working with it in Vegas 9 because of a crash problem, but I can now just open it and render from Vegas 10 (which has added the option of 23.976 for AVCHD).

But, to answer your question, the project was 23.976 from the get go (I'm working with already-processed source). This should solve my problem though. Thanks for the reply nonetheless!
