    Hey Guys,

I'm in the process of transferring some old Football games from VHS to DVD and I want to use certain menus when authoring them.

The problem is I don't know what program these menus came from,I'm hoping someone can enlighten me.

Below is a couple of screenshots of the menus I want to use.

Does anyone know what program either of these menus came from?

    Cheers,

  2. the problem for you is that neither of those menus came from a program. Both of those menus were made from homedeck dvd recorders (the top being panasonic, I forgot the bottom but have seen it a number of times before)

It wasn't a program. Those are the types of menus generated by standalone DVD recorders.

Thank you both for the replies.

Can either of you recommend me a program that carries basic menus similar to the ones I'd like to use?

DVD-lab PRO may give you what you're looking for.

    But, <WARNING> that won't be a 5-minute job </WARNING>.

You could easily re-create these with Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.net, etc.
Just do a screencap of an existing menu and paste it into the photo app, paint over/touch up the areas you intend to create yourself (text & thumbnail, etc).
Save as BMP to use as master template over and over.
Then, open and fill in the pertinent info for the title(s) you're working on, including overlaying thumbs of screens in the spots provided, if you want. Save as a different name.

Obviously, this won't be a <5 minute project either.

The best menus don't use templates, but are done from scratch using your imagination.
And, unless you count "Time=Money", it's free! GIMP or Paint.net allow you to do complex still image manipulation at no cost.

Can you make any kind of menu with it? Since WombleEasyDVD has a trial limitation I was wondering if there was another free DVD authoring software out there that could match its menu customizations. Other programs probably won't be as easy to use as Womble but I've always wanted a free version that is capable of producing such menus that matches the quality of WombleEasy

GUIforDVDAuthor is probably the most versatile free DVD authoring software, but not the easiest to learn how to use. You might try DVDAuthorGUI if GUIforDVDAuthor is too complicated.

The problem with GUIforDVDAuthor is that DVDAuthor has marched on, but GUIforDVDAuthor hasn't. It is abandonware. Plus it is a kerfuddle to work out. Typical "developer" logic.

DVDAuthorGUI is more recent, and the developer is still active on these forums. Plus it is a real simplified nuts-and-bolts intuitive sort of software.

DVDStyler is probably the most up-to-date, as far as the DVDAuthor engine goes.

Bombono is another (new) one, migrated from the Linux universe.

While GUIforDVDAuthor has not been updated since 2008, its author, Borax, is still active here. He last posted on October 26th. If someone has a question about his software, he generally does reply, although he misses a post here and there.

GUIforDVDAuthor still bests the other freeware GUI programs I have tried for the number of features provided, and is not just a front end for dvdauthor. It allows the choice of using Muxman (free) for authoring, which gives some additional options that are not available using dvdauthor.

DVDstyler has gotten fairly good. I think it was updated with new templates recently.

Okay, old thread, but I'll chime in. Those look similar to what my menus are on my Ilo DVD Recorder. I have the 04 Model, that's not the year, but the model number.
