OK, everyone, here's what I got:
I'm using Sony Vega Pro 10, and create just a 1 minute, 6 second video.
The video itself is just a stills end credits video, containing only 9 jpgs, and 2 png files, all between 6 KBs and 500 KBs. All 24 credits were made in Vega.
The veg file I'm using them all on is only 114 KB, making up only 7 layers. Here's a screenshot:

Now, all the images are 1280x720, but I'm using the following settings in project properties:
VIDEO: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_projectProp...ies1_video.jpg
AUDIO: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_projectProp...ies1_audio.jpg
RULER: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_projectProperties1_ruler.jpg
Personally, even if the images are 1280x720, I don't mind the letterbox.
Now, When I export the file, I go to "Render As," and export it with the following settings:
RENDER AS: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_renderAs1.jpg
CUSTOM SETTINGS:
VIDEO: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_renderAs1video.jpg
AUDIO: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_renderAs1audio.jpg
PROJECT: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_renderAs1project.jpg
When I export to those settings, I get this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_results1.jpg
248,409 KBs!!!
Now, I know for a fact that the file shouldn't be this big, especially if the video only contains jpgs and pngs and no actual video. The file should be no more than 20 MBs tops.
So now, I asking ANYONE out there with some Vega experience to help me out.
What is it that I'm doing wrong? Is there a setting that I missed?
What settings do I need to make the video of the SAME quality, including the dimensions 720x480 and 29 fps, with good audio, but only under 50 MBs or smaller?
If you don't have any experience in Vega, but know someone who does, please note them this entry.
I NEED HELP!!!

i didn't look at any of the links but there is one constant. filesize = bitrate x time so if the time is 66 seconds you rendered the video at about 30mbps. (as long as you mean kilo Byte when you list 248,409 KB and not kilo bit). if you want a smaller size use a smaller bitrate.

According to http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/sonyVegaPro10_mlpr01_renderAs1project.jpg
the project was rendered as NTSC DV.
