  1. I have used BD-RB to convert dozens of BD to BD25. This is the first time I received this error. Can someone help?

  2. Your problem is field-based VC-1.

As far as I can tell, your problem is the same as this:

    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1417255#post1417255

    This comment by jdobbs specifically:

"The problem isn't really in the audio extraction or reencoding. MKVMERGE is actually trying to convert the extracted video into an intermediate MKV file. It has to do that because field-based VC-1 sources fail to work in FFDSHOW/HAALI without doing so (the "**" next to the frame rate)."

Dunno what to tell you, as I haven't seen the error myself and don't know what to do about it. Sorry.

    And welcome to the forum.

[EDIT] I'd try AVCHDCoder, maybe it can handle that disc. Just a guess.

Couple more possibilities: Make sure you're not running out of hard drive space where your workfiles are located. Or try ripping again.

fritzi93 is correct, but I'm going to say it differently so that it's less technical and newbies will hopefully understand it better.

BDRebuilder can't handle interlaced VC-1 video. This is why your encode fails. There is no fix for this, but if you feel like wasting your time you're welcome to read up in various forums where Jdobbs' sycophantic followers will respond with their usual "Your configuration is wrong, dood" replies with suggestions on how to "fix" it that don't work.

The problem is well known by people outside of Doom9, but basically denied by all who troll the forums there. Interlaced VC-1 isn't very common so most of Jdobbs' groupies have never seen it and they deny that BDRebuilder can't handle it. I've got nothing personally against Jdobbs as he probably truly knows about the problem, but it's out been out there for years and never been fixed so either he doesn't care about it or he has no solution for it. If you want to copy a BD disc and you see this error, the only thing you can do is just burn the rip to a BD-R DL disc with no changes/compression. It kind of sucks, but that's the reality of the situation.

  4. I suspect jdobbs has more pressing problems than fixing an uncommon (as you say) problem. He has said he'll look into it, but I am unaware that the interlaced VC-1 thing has been solved. I can't find anything to indicate that, at any rate.

Again, I've never encountered it and you're probably right that most of the participants on the bug report thread haven't either.

Yeah, burning a straight rip to BDR-DL might be the only option.
