It doesn't mean anything, it just translates out to that sound. Like "The Beatles" in Mandarin sounds like "Pee-tos", which would translate back to English as "The Long Hairs".
The working everyday written Chinese characters are around 5000, English has like 26, right? Not much common ground.

Here's what I was playing around with. I used another "enemy" team from that webpage, the "Southwestern Heights Mustangs"
-
Whew!!! Hahaha, that's awesome!!!
Yeah, let me cook up some good SFX.
Stay Tuned. -
Hey, this is tough. The material is too short. (That's not my music either).

I tried to do it like this one:http://youtu.be/pW_MaqpqDf4?hd=1Last edited by budwzr; 7th Oct 2011 at 18:36.

haha nice
but isn't that jingle copyright too ?
You need to throw out some ideas if you want a longer piece.
But I think a football highlight intro should be short & sweet, like 10-15 secs max. The highlights are the highlight, not the intro
For the 2nd one , it's not "LA", it's Scott City... but it just doesn't have the same ring does it LOL
-
Yeah, Scott City, hmmm, sounds too vanilla.
I'm gonna work on an original sports theme then, just for them.
I put the "Sports Diddy" Back in http://youtu.be/sTmU_3uYybo?hd=1
I'm still waiting for my brain to give me a new custom diddy.Last edited by budwzr; 8th Oct 2011 at 08:10.

I guess the helmet color is black and not orange. What the heck was I thinking.
I got it off that site you guys mentioned.
It is under Kansas and the third row down and it says Ulysses Tigers. -
You guys are awesome. I am sitting here crying
because I feel so stupid because of how easy you guys make this stuff look. Where did you learn how to do it? I don't have a lot of time right now until the end of March to learn to do this stuff because I will be too busy with FB and BB but I want to really sit down and learn how this stuff is done. AAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM MMMMEEEEEEE.

Hey, you guys want to help me out when I do make the highlight video at the end of the year for FB? I will put you in my credits list at the end of the video with extra big letters. All it would be is to make some interesting graphic effects like what you have been doing. I need to think up some neat ideas. If you guys have any I will be open to suggestions. I will even be willing to pay you a little (not a lot, but something for your time) with paypal if you would like. I am serious. You guys are too cool and seem like pretty genuine people.

I'm not really a sports person, but I get the general idea. Sell the sizzle and keep the adrenaline pumping.
Creative? Why reinvent the wheel? There's lots of stuff out on the web to draw on for ideas. Why don't you research on that for a while. Send in links to the stuff you think looks cool and fits the crowd over there.Last edited by budwzr; 8th Oct 2011 at 22:59.

Any idea what would be some good words to help in the search.

When I searched for a higher resolution logo, I stumbled on the homepage and rankings
http://www.scottbeavers.net/football

5-0 , not too bad
If I have time I'd be glad to chip in too, but you need to provide some creative direction -

I found this one link. Go into http://web.mac.com/finaleffects/SuperNova_Animation_%26_Visual_Effects/Demo_Reel.html and maybe around 2 minutes in there are some news people standing in front of a building. They are giant. How can I do this if I get a little video of some players in front of some goal posts or our field house? Possible, or pretty hard work?
-
This is called "compositing".
There are at least two video tracks. One is a cutout of the people.
The size difference has to do with the camera proximity, whether a real camera or virtual.
Imagine you take a video or still, and you're 20' away, the subject will fill the frame. now go 200 or 2000 feet away and.....
As I look at that section in SloMo, there are lots of layers. Some of the elements are real, some are not. That's how the pros do it. Mixing real/fake media like this gives a lot more impact Is it gratuitous bling? Not at all.
The message is "We've got you covered", "We're big enough".
The brain can only absorb so much at a time, whether it be music or image, and the goal is always to plant "goodwill" via feeling, not facts and figures.
If you look at ALL the new advertising lately, it's been revamped to catch the attention of "lazy eyeballs". Those eyeballs have been glazed over by the constant bombardment of ads, and people just don't see the older ads anymore.
The reason I chose "Budwzr" as a user name, is because I remember the old frog ads and how cleverly they were designed to entertain, NOT to shout how great THEY ARE, but how great the customers are. The "Wassup" series further refined this approach.
Bottom Line: Choose your graphics and animations to match the tastes of the target audience, not to draw attention to yourself. Gratuitous bling doesn't work. It's just a lot of noise.

Again, preparation & planning are the most important steps. Plan stuff well in advance
What did you have in mind for the background?
What was the effect you were going for? Did you just want the player look like "giants" ?
If you shot it in front of the field house, and wanted to replace the background, it would be tedious work to rotoscope out the players
If you shot in front of a greenscreen, it would be much easier to do the composite - the background could be chroma keyed out -

This was kind of cool also. Don't like the music but graphics are nice. This is pretty long, probably longer than what I would do but it is still nicely done.
I am not sure yet what I would use. We just had a new $500,000 football dressing room/field house built or maybe by the goal post. Not sure yet until I look at what my look best.
The effect was similar to what they used. Have the building or whatever in the background and they just walk into the scene and stand there posing like the news people did. Plain but cool.
I understand about not overdoing with graphics. I am just fascinated by them and like the wow factor. When I have done even some simple things the kids and parents go wow too. We all seem to like a little wow. -

Even though the Gophers are not very good they have a nice intro about their team. -
I have to work on the video for tv today so I am done looking for ideas but I think you guys have a good idea what I like. You guys have a much better perspective than I do but I am sure we will find some things that will make this special and just POP. Thanks to you for being such helpful people. Take care and have a great day.
