  1. I'm an actor and I have a dvd that I need to include on my reel. I am using cinelerra CV 2.1.5. The video portion plays well in Cinelerra but there is no sound. The dvd has the following codec info (taken from vlc):

    stream 0:
    type subtitle
    codec: DVD subtitles (spu)

    stream 1
    type:video
    codec: MPEG-1/2 video (mpgv)
    resolution 720x480
    framerate 59.940059

    stream2
    type:video
    codec: MPEG-1/2 video (mpgv)
    resolution 720x480
    framerate 59.940059

    stream 3
    type audio
    codec DVD LPCM Audio (lpcm)
    language English
    channels: stereo
    Sample rate 48000 Hz
    bits per sample: 16

It's the audio that is giving me a problem. i need to convert it to something I can use in cinelerra

I am using linux mint 11

    thanks in advance.

No sound when you play it in cinelerra? or doesn't it import it at all?

You could try demux the audio from the dvd with ffmpeg or mplayer / mencoder and import separate in cinelerra.

  3. It imports fine and you can view it in the viewer. But there is no sound. My other DVD's use a52 for the audio codec. for some reason this uses pcm for the audio codec and it is not supported. I need to convert it somehow to a supported codec

Try de-muxing the audio from the original video using TsMuxer. Then re-mux it with the newer video. Hope that helps...

  5. I used vlc and got an mp3 of the audio which I added back to my cinelerra project and produced a .mov file to be used for my main project
