converting [smr] (and related) to mpeg-1 HELP!!!

Hi all,

Hope someone here can help me. I'm trying to convert a few theatre rips into VCD format, but i'm having a problem, and i'm too sure how to proceed. No matter what template I use, I only get audio, but no video, just a black screen. Am I perhaps missing a codec? I can play the rips on windows media player without a problem, i think its just a setting i'm missing in TMPGEnc.

increasing the direcsthow reader OFTEN helps when you dont get any video or cant open it but you can play in media player.
