    Hello Forum,

I am having an odd and very annoying washed out look with VLC when I play my movies. I am playing .mpg files that are filled with .vob (Simple File Joiner was used to put them together). This washed out look is not present when using WMP (I really do not want to use WMP as I can't get my subtitles to display, even though I ripped the .vob files with subtitles, and not speaking the foreign language the movie is in doesn't help matter )

I read some information on the web where if one uses an NVIDIA video card, instead of Radeon, this is the potential (or actual) cause. However, I just talked with someone today who uses NVIDIA and does not have this problem. If this is an issue with the Video card, is there a fix I can apply, or perhaps different codecs to fix the problem?

I'm sorry if this was brought up in another thread, but I could not seem to find it. If it exists, and answers these question fully, could you please point me to it?
    Thank you,

Right click the desktop and try this (if prompted, select "Advanced view" or the equivalent when opening the control panel):

  3. Change the output device in VLC. Tool -> Preferences -> Video -> Display -> Output.
