I have no idea how, but a couple months ago, I had made a few videos on Movie Maker. They were 640x480, with a bitrate of 11192kbps, and a frame rate of 60fps. Now, on this new laptop, I notice Movie Maker doesn't have that kind of customization for publishing movies anymore. How was I able to do that before then?

Also, another big thing is that there were video effects to crop widescreen videos into 4:3. I believe that's what I was using, anyhow. My capture device, when I'm recording the PS3 in widescreen, captures ithe video in widescreen, but any PS2 games I'm playing are 4:3. Thus, some cropping had to be done to get rid of unnecessary black space and give it a more faithful ratio. (Or perhaps I had the PS2 image stretched out to widescreen on the PS3's settings, and stretched the display down to 4:3... I can't remember, but I think I used cropping.)

I'm currently using Movie Maker 6, or at least that's what I've got on here. How did I have all these options before on a previous laptop, but not now? Kinda makes me wish I could go back and use the old one if possible... Did they just dumb down the newer versions of Movie Maker or something?

I would've cropped the video on Adobe Premiere, if it had the option to do so. (You know, automatically, not where I'm manually resizing the video and moving it to fit within the view.)

Edit: Well, it appeared this laptop came with Windows Live Movie Maker, which is the version I actually recognized and should've been using. Windows Movie Maker 6, the version that this site links to, is the lesser version. Now I CAN create custom video publishing settings, but another problem I ran into was the fact that there doesn't seem to be any options or effects for cropping or resizing of videos. I've tried to find effects, but they're all for Windows Movie Maker 6, sadly.
