Hello.
I have a DVD which resolution is 720x576 PAL
I want it to be converted to AVI with the same output resolution, so I set in "Advanced settings" fixed width 720.
However AutoGK cuts height to 544
Is there any way to prevent this ?
I searched in Advanced Options (Ctrl-F9) but no luck.
Thanks in advance![]()

AVI support for rectangular pixels (DVD) is very poor, that is why many conversion apps default to square pixels, where 720x544 would give presumably the same aspect ratio (4:3). But perhaps you already knew that.

In my experience support for non-square pixels in AVI is very good now.
I don't use AutoGK but is there a way to force it to assume the source video is 5:4? That way it would would leave the frame size 720x576. Then, after encoding, you could use Mpeg4Modifier to change the pixel or display aspect ratio. -
In the Hidden Options set the aspect ratio as 'Original'. Just be warned that without also changing the PAR afterwards using MPEG4Modifier or adjusting your player's playback aspect ratio, your resulting AVI will play with the wrong aspect ratio.

Why would you want to resize unless your player has a problem with non-square pixels -- very rare with modern devices.
