  1. I use handbrake as it gives the exact video size and AR in the converted video file while other converters have dark strips on top and bottom.

    I was converting video files to MKV format. after 5 hours, Handbrake gave message "Encoding completed".

    Windows XP-SP3 flashed a warning "Windows has encountered an error..." Send crash report to Microsoft.. which I did.

    It has happened twice and taken 10hours time. There is no update and no solution to this problem.

    Any help will be highly appreciated.

    bad settings or corrupt source video. try resetting all your changes back to a preset and try again. or maybe give vidcoder a try, it's an easy to set up front-end for handbrake.
