After having trouble rendering properly with CoreAVC 2.5 I tought heck maybe 3.0 will make everything better, but no.
I can't even play a H264 or similar video while using CoreAVC 3 as the preferred decoder. When I try to open a H264 based video it simple closes my player(MPC-HC/WMP).
I have reinstalled my files in order: MPC-HC, CoreAVC 3, AC3Filter, VSFilter. I have unchecked the internal filters in MPC-HC. I have left the default settings in CoreAVC and I've added the codecs in External filters section of MPC-HC in the order mentioned above. I have no other codecs installed other than Haali which comes with CoreAVC.
I see no reason for this not to work. CoreAVC 2.0 worked fine before. Ever since 2.5 I could not get it to work.
Also, I would have asked this in the CoreAVC forums, but they don't seem to care and there hasn't been a new post authorized there in almost 9 months. They never answer their Support tickets either.
PC Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP3.
Radeon X700 Pro
Atlhon XP 2500+
Thanks for your help.
Crucio.

Yeah its set to "None". I know I my card doesn't support it.
2.6.0 didn't work for me either, wait, I'll try getting 2.6.1.
Nope, 2.6.1 has the same effect. Just crashes. -
If you couldn't get it working before, why did you bother paying for the upgrade ?

Oh he is answering, sweet, thanks poison.
Well you see, 2.0 worked fine and I thought hey, 2.5 will probably be way better. But that wasn't the case for me, so I kept trying up till this new one. -
I'll try removing Haali. What other splitter could I use?
Ok well I've tried using VLC and I can play 720P with no lag. What the heck. I used to ignore VLC because it was always choppy, but now I see they've improved it very much. I'm amazed.
Wow. All this time I've been trying to find solution with MPC and Core, I think I'll use VLC from now on until I purchase a new computer in the next months.Last edited by Crucio; 7th Sep 2011 at 17:46.

The standalone filters from MPC-HC include (usable) MKV and MP4 splitters.
The LAV Splitter also is "good enough", IF your machine is "new enough"
SolveigMM has a decent Matroska Splitter, thanks to it, and so far,
my PC can do without Haali

@Crucio: what about Daum PotPlayer and just using their internal codecs?
-
Had the same problem. VC1 files played fine but avc didn't. Solved it by going into the Haali Media Splitter options and changing the Output>Use custom media type for H.264 to No.
Hope this helps. -
Was a solution found? I have the same problem here. 2.5 on up crashes all players types.
Disabled Haali and tried MPC-HC's internal splitter didn't help.
Any suggestions?
(Use custom media type was already set to no).
Edit: I noticed Crucio is also using an Athlon XP (which does not have SSE2). I'm starting to wonder if CoreAVC left SSE only processors behind.Last edited by doctorm; 15th Sep 2012 at 18:16.
