I have a LOT of VCDs that each have a single hour-long TV show. Without commercials, that's 44 minutes. But now with 90+ minute CDRs, I can fit two shows on one disc!
The question is, how do I go back and transfer the contents of those VCDs to new ones? I'd like to rip the files off the 1-show VCDs and burn them all to 2-show discs.
What do I do with the .DAT file on the VCDs?
Any help would be appreciated - I can't find a lot of info on ripping VCDs!
Thanks
Mojo

download TSCV it's free. You'll also need either NERO to make disc image file of your vcd or something to make a BIN/Cue disc image of your vcd.
Under the tools tabs in TSCV there is a vcd ripping option.
Or option 2
VcdCutter will convert the .DAT file back into an MPEG File without the need of making a disc image on your harddrive of the vcd. This option is quicker and easier but VcdCutter is not a freeware program. -
Copy both avesq.dat files on ypur harddisk, open nero, select videocd and feed the dat-files to nero. That will work.
Good luck, Jack -
Windows won't let me copy the .DAT file! I'm using 2000 and when I try to copy it I get the error message "invalid MS-DOS function!"
How wierd.
