  1. Anyone know when will Vegas Pro 11 be released? I've read that it is in Beta testing now.

Seeing that they have about a 2yr window between released version history I would say sometime in 2012......any reason past versions aren't working for you?

I hope they are working on VBR h.264 smart render.

AVCHD 2.0 general support for sure.

I'd like to see a direct AVCHD disc utility as well (in Vegas "Render As").

I think the "vision" for Vegas is as a rock solid NLE with a good set of core tools for the DIY pros, and not venture too far into passing fads like shattering glass orbs and comet emitters.

Note that the plugin interface has changed in Ver10 into something easier for 3rd party specialty effects companies to work with. I like this approach because you can expand Vegas ala carte from different vendors.

I recently did a 30 day trial with Boris FX Continuum 7, and was pleased with the product, but the price was out of my league. Apparently Boris is selling well in Vegas because I asked them for a discount and was ready to purchase immediately, but they snubbed me and never even responded. I guess they're not hungry.

I've been able to get at least a 25% discount on many softwares via internet download version. You don't get a box or disc though, but that's OK for me.

    This looks good
The new stabilization tool also includes automatic rolling-shutter correction of
the jello/skew/wobble effects caused by some CMOS camcorders.

the interesting thing for me is that they say they will have better acceleration of gpu technologies from nviida and amd but no mention of intel's QS.

Something that helps too is to pick out the part of the video that you want centered and use the pan/crop with keyframes to do a rough stabilization before using the built in stabilizer. Try it, it helps a lot.

I didn't see anything worth upgrading for, but those are just the highlight items. They usually make improvements to the interface too, like adding more functionality.
