    I'm using VLC 1.1.11. Is there some way to get it to open at whatever size it was previously please? I have it set to Original size under Video > Zoom. That's a bit small (yet Double is too large) so I usually enlarge it by dragging immediately after opening. But that doesn't stick.

    Turn off the "Resize interface to video size" option. Tools -> Preferences -> Interface.
