Hi,
I know there is a program called MeGUI that can import AVISynth Scripts and convert to x264. The problem is that software on my Windows7/64bit not works correctly.
Another program that I love is Handbrake. But, I need to import AVI file to it!
I've used the ffdshow/MakeAVIs, but I get an error "No title(s) found."
I found myself forced to use VirtualDub so I will tell you that I was expecting a faster execution of the script on VirtualDub than others (like AVIDemux behind AVSProxy). The only problem is that I have not found a codec x264 with a window configuration as easy to use like HandBrake. The only solution I found was to take the string configuration of Handbrake and to use it into x264 codec of VirtualDub.
You know, I have other solutions?

Try Xvid4PSP.
Or use the command line x264 encoder. Make yourself a batch file, put it in your SendTo folder, then you can right click on any AVS script and SendTo that batch file for encoding.
There are also a few different user interfaces to x264vfw:
