final cut express 4 - capture issue

hi there

i'm trying to capture from a camcorder tape via an advc 100 on to my mac using fcex4

the issue i have is that at the end of the 1.5 hr tape being captured, im left with a long list of broken down clips yet all i want is a single clip in frames.
it keeps interupting image during capture with messages like 'locating timecode break'

my settings is frames/source time

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

You need to turn camera (device) control off since you are using an ADVC-100. I have no access to a Mac at the moment to tell you the exact menu.

ive looked by cant see any section that mentions say 'camera' or 'control' any ideas where i might look please?
